About us

Sharon and Art were both born and raised in the Detroit, Michigan Area.

Sharon graduated from Denby High School, and Art graduated from Osborn High School on the Detroit east side.

Art entered the United States Marine Corp in 1963, spent 13 months overseas with  ten months spent in  Viet Nam, the remainder on Okinawa.  Art was honorably discharged in January of 1967.

In May of 1967, Art started working for the Automobile Club of Michigan and in June of 1967, Sharon and Art were married. 

In December of 1971, we (the Winter's) were blessed with a daughter named Cherylyn, and in April of 1981 a son Matthew.

In June of 1982, Art decided (with a little encouragement from the doctor) to seek different employment.  You got it we purchased the Blue Haven Resort.

We are people loving people and we enjoy watching people utilize and enjoy our property.

We are a small ma and pa  family owned and operated resort.  If you want a comfortable and enjoyable vacation, weekend (when available), you have found the right place.  We basically close the middle of October and reopen the middle of May. Call for reservations or use the handy reservation form.

Our prices are reasonable, our units are clean and updated.

The buildings are approximately fifty years old, but are well maintained and comfortable.

We have fourteen units that are in a horseshoe, with seven units on each side.  A beautiful 200 foot beach of sugar sand.  We have volleyball, badminton, horseshoes, teeter-totter, swings, and more.

Sunrises are out of this world,  and during your stay we recommend enjoying at least one sunrise, if not all.
